Sophie grew up in a small village in rural Warwickshire with an outdoors attitude to life and surrounded by horses and dogs. It was this early appreciation of animals and rural pursuits that sparked her interest in canine, equine and wildlife art.

“I am so hugely thankful to my family and friends for their overwhelming support and encouragement over the past few years. There is not a day that goes by where I do not remind myself of how lucky I am to be able to do what I love as a career” – Sophie

In 2013 Sophie graduated from The Royal Agricultural University (formally College), Cirencester, with a degree in BSc Hons Rural Land Management. During her time at university Sophie discovered and later developed her talent for drawing dogs and horses and undertook an ever increasing number of private commissions.

After graduating, Sophie initially pursued a career as a Rural Land Agent managing country estates in Lincolnshire and Cambridgeshire but continued to develop her portfolio of artwork during evenings and weekends. Due to overwhelming demand, in January 2015 Sophie took the decision to pursue her career as an artist full time and has never looked back since.

“Art is such a precious form of expression, it is so heavily influenced by emotion and environment and the more you create, the more it becomes an addiction” – Sophie

Sophie now lives in Edinburgh and is currently artist in residence at the stunning Oxenfoord Castle. Sophie takes on a number of private commissions throughout the year and attends a number of shows and events up and down the country. Sophie is always happy to talk about her work and there are a number of ways to get in touch!
